Design Philosophy
Lingerie is unique in our wardrobes because it is both one of the most functional and the most aestheticized garments we wear. I don't believe in sacrificing function for pretty details, nor should beauty be sacrificed for function. Here’s what VAVA is about:
Impeccable fit. This is a no-brainer. If your undergarments aren’t well fit, they will be both uncomfortable and unattractive. As the literal foundation of everything else that you put on your body, it is of the utmost importance that your bra and underwear feel like the coziest, sexiest glove you're ever slipped into.
Durability. Quality materials and attentive construction mean that with proper care your VAVA items will last. I stand by this claim, and will resolve any issues with the quality of your garments to your complete satisfaction. This principle is also an important aspect of my commitment to reducing material impact as much as possible.
Classic Design. There’s no need for lingerie (or any clothing, in my opinion) to be especially trend responsive. By designing pieces that are guided by style, rather than fashion, I get to to refine and improve my designs over time. I hope to make pieces that will be staples in your wardrobe for years to come. Though I continually find new laces and fabrics to work with, you can count on finding your favorite designs that you know will fit and feel just right.
Customer Responsiveness. I'm always looking to improve my offerings, and customer feedback is a huge part of this process, which is also why I focus on direct to customer sales over boutiques. While I try to design the best lingerie for the most people, I also know that what works well for some does not work well for everyone, which is why I love offering customization options. You can contact me directly with your feedback or custom requests.
Sustainability. I believe that doing something right means doing so without screwing someone else over, which is why every I put a lot of thought into the impact of everything that I use for VAVA, from laces to mailers. Check out my Materials & Sustainability page for more info, and if you have any questions about the impact of anything VAVA related, please don't hesitate to ask.
